Saturday is here!
It’s the main earning day for street performers and Daniel is going out first. He dons his kilt and braces himself against the cold morning air. We spent the night boondocking near the park so we could make sure to get an early start and a good pitch- last time we were here there was a lot of competition!
Daniel is a champion and performs for 5 hours straight! I pop along to take the kids to the playground and do a short video of him playing “Born to Be Wild”- he’s amazing! The kids have a good time and we go back again after lunch in the Hoose. Afterwards it’s time to move onto my pitch- the ice cream shop.
I realise straight away that it’s not the best pitch but I play for half an hour before moving to a spot just down the road. Then I get a really bad headache and I know it’s sinusitis- ouch! I do my two hours but it’s difficult and my energy is not what it should be. I still receive lots of smiles and a positive response, and I make 24 bucks before walking the half mile home before it gets dark. Luckily Daniel rocked out today and our total is decent.

Tomorrow is my birthday but I think I’ll do a shift and try to make up for today. I’m feeling pretty disappointed in myself.
