We all had fun at the playground yesterday, working out and playing.
I had a fantastic shift in the evening, playing for 3 hours to happy people dancing and singing and we filled the fuel up in the Hoose- she’s happy today! Daniel tells me a truck came by while I was out and sprayed a cloud of chemicals all around the Hoose. We look it up and find out it’s mosquito killer. You learn something new every day!
Saturday is here, there’s a farmer’s market and hopefully another busy evening, but it’s very windy! I prepare for a double shift and hope for the best but looking at maps it’s a lot less busy than usual due to the weather.

We’re hoping to go camping if we make enough for a few days of groceries, but we talk it over and decide it’s better to go straight to the next town. We try to get away from towns and cities when we can to get closer to nature and not have to spend every night at Walmart or Cracker Barrel. It’s a balancing act finding pitches near people and overnights elsewhere. The next town looks buskable and has a beach, so it’s win-win!

Lunch time is pretty dead but I do well and I’m glad I go out because it’s less I have to earn the second time round. I have a look around the town and take some pictures. I hope it’s busy tonight and that people enjoy me but I’m nervous as I have a sore throat and stuffy nose so my voice is a little hoarse, but I’ll do my best as I always do!

I back go out around 6pm and play for a couple of hours but the streets are empty. A young man who was one of my first tippers and whom I’ve seen everyday comes by to listen to a few songs and I’m really grateful for that. As I’m packing up a local lady introduces herself and says that Friday is usually busier and we discuss whether maybe veteran’s day is responsible for the quietness. She gives me a contact in case I want to book a gig while I’m in town which is great! She lets me know there is a porch fest on tomorrow where scores of bands play on porches in the old town for free. I think it will be fun to check out if we are still in town.
Daniel works on a lot of website and social media stuff while I’m gone, Grace makes dinner for everyone (she’s growing up fast!), and we prepare to leave for the night. We discuss our options and decide to head out to the next town to try our Sunday there. We drive to a Cracker Barrel in Kingsland for the night. In the morning we will get prepared to cross the border into Florida!
