My first tip today wasn’t money.
A young homeless man gave the hoodie off his back, and I knew in that moment that it was the most meaningful tip of the day. When someone gives you what little they have, it means so much, and it shows how deeply they have been affected. It reminded me to be grateful: grateful for my voice, which is a gift and not mine alone- I must share it freely; grateful for my health, which allows me to live this beautiful lifestyle; for my family who are with me; for the memories we make and the love we share; grateful that I am able to make a difference in this world, however small it may be.
I realised that recently I was getting caught up in things that aren’t important, like how long I play and what time I go out, and I had forgotten that the universe has always provided for me, and always will. None of these things really matter. Show up, stand in place, ask and you will receive. I think I was intimidated by Savannah and it threw me off my game, but today I felt like I turned it around.
I played my heart out as I always do, but it felt different today, it felt like it did before I got to Savannah. It’s funny how we blame external factors for our own negative feelings. I blamed the fact that I had to finish busking before dark for my lack of income, when really I could make as much as I needed during the day. Perspective is a powerful tool and I am grateful for the reminder.
We headed to a small and really cool music shop in the area before it closed so Daniel could get some strings. We always try to shop locally for music supplies, and today it was Savannah Guitar Lutherie and Mercantile.

The gentleman was lovely and gave us some tips about the city, as well as a cool sticker and plectrum! Such a difference from the larger nationwide stores where the staff are frequently rude and not very knowledgable.
Afterwards we drove to a playground for the children to run around, I cooked us all a meal which everyone enjoyed (maybe the extra gratitude, although I always give thanks for my food) and we got ready for an early night.
