So, apart from an extra from ‘The Fast and The Furious’ drifting around the Hoose very loudly just after midnight, it was a lovely peaceful night here.
Of course, Angus made his nightly trip into our bed, and though I took him back to his bed, he persisted, managing to take up more room than the adults. AND he is a restless blanket-kicker-offer! Ten years of broken sleep and counting!
In the morning, the rain is pounding down. I take the kids to the playground after lunch but it’s just too wet! We leave after ten minutes and I make some cinnamon and ginger hot cocoa for everyone before we get back to homeschooling. It was maths and reading in the morning, and Harry was constructing some great Lego cars.
This afternoon, we work on some spelling and word definitions: Grace has been getting to grips with the dictionary. Angus makes an ogre with duplo: he’s proud.

After that, it’s time to move the Hoose, so we head along to Walmart. We’ve not been able to find a water refill machine recently for our 5 gallon water bottles so we frequently have to buy one gallon water jugs, which really don’t last very long, and leaves us with loads of plastic jugs to dispose of.
We get there and there IS a water refill machine tucked away at the back of the store! I fill up two jugs, get the groceries we need and buy some blank paper and colouring pencils for my 3 budding artists. I also find the last Harry Potter book for Grace, which we’ve been looking for for months! She’s overjoyed!
We have a delicious dinner, get tidied up, and the kids play with toys before bed. Daniel and I do some online work before settling in for the night. Discussions turn to the future, and how we will continue to generate an income if and when we buy land to start a homestead: right now our income is dependent on traveling town to town playing music, which obviously we can’t do if we are working on our land. Daniel wants to record an album and build a fan base, so perhaps we will delay buying land to allow us the time to embark on that journey. As for this moment, everything is going really well, and we count our blessings.
