Daniel taught us how to fish today!
It’s been cold (relatively speaking) and raining here in Florida all week, but that doesn’t put us Scots off, so we headed out to Goffinsville Nassau River Park for the day. It is a recognized habitat for an impressive list of wildlife, including manatees, tortoises and armadillos.
We visited the playground first then checked out some herons and egrets fishing in the water. Daniel finally had the opportunity to try out his fishing rod, and Grace and Harry got up close to a baby bird.

We had fun on the fishing pier, and Daniel showed Grace and I how to cast. I really enjoyed it!

We didn’t catch anything so I cooked a lovely beef stew for dinner- it tasted just like home! I’ve been kind of enjoying this Scottish-like weather, although it’s nowhere near as cold as it would be in my homeland. Still, it was the perfect time to make a hearty stew after a day out in the drizzle, making me feel close to home.
The park here is open 24 hours so we decide to see if we can spend the night and try some early-morning fishing!
