An early morning gets us an early start
We arrive at Hanna Park around 9.30 am. That’s when the rain starts, but it doesn’t put us off our mushroom hunt! We leave the Hoose parked at the closest spot to it and hit the trail.
After a slow but fairly short walk we make it to the Lion’s Mane, and it is stunning! It’s the first one I’ve seen in real life, and it reminds me of lots and lots of white icicles.
The boys start complaining about the rain so we give them
a natural umbrella for the return trip!
We move the Hoose closer to the splash park but it is closed at this time of year, so Daniel takes the kids to the playground instead and I decide to stay behind to get started on lunch. Everyone enjoys it and then we all go back to the playground for a second time. We find a really cute caterpillar and see some lovely birds by the water.
Angus is super brave and goes on the zipline so many times!
Harry and Grace both make friends and Grace is getting callouses from doing monkey bars all the time!
After that it’s time to fill up the water at the dump station and have another hot shower. Bliss!
We leave the park before dark and I cook us up some food, with a side of mushroom- the most delicious mushroom I have EVER tasted! Angus loved it so much he had a double helping, AND some off the parents plates! Not a bad day at all.
